Together with its twin Rocca di Angera, the Rocca di Arona was one of the main strategic control points of Lake Maggiore in ancient times. Unfortunately, we only have a few ruins of it after its destruction in 1800 at the hands of the Napoleonic army. Today it houses a park, where you can take relaxing walks and admire the remains of the ancient walls as well as suggestive views of Arona and the southern part of Lake Maggiore.
