Agrate Conturbia. La Torbiera Wildlife Park
Pubblicato : Vendredi, 2 février, 2024 - 09:57
Established as a centre for the reproduction and study of endangered animal species, the park is a protected area of about 40 hectares, where the forest opens up into clearings frequented by roe deer, foxes, beech martens, reptiles, marsh harriers and other bird species. Special attention is paid to the Italian and European fauna and to the most rare feline species in the world today. In order not to disturb the wildlife of the species housed, a part of the park is not accessible to visitors, thus allowing them to get to know and see the animals while also respecting their space.

Boca DOC Vineyards
Pubblicato : Mardi, 30 janvier, 2024 - 18:14
Along the hills surrounding the imposing Sanctuary we can find the vineyards of Boca DOC. Some pleasant walks pass through these places, pleasant in all the different seasons, with a relaxing panorama, with the gentle hills nearby and the distant backdrop of the Alps. The light ruby-coloured wine that is produced, particularly suitable for ageing, has a bouquet of violets, berries and spicy notes, with a long, persistent finish.

Sanctuary of Boca
Pubblicato : Mardi, 30 janvier, 2024 - 15:06
Hidden amidst woods and meadows, far from the town and accessible only by a secondary road, it is yet another local work by the architect Antonelli, famous for the Mole Antonelliana in Turin and the Cupola di San Gaudenzio in Novara. Based on a much grander project than the one that has come down to us, the majestic building, although in its extreme essentiality, stands out for its heavy physical presence, in stark contrast to the surrounding landscape of few houses and much nature.

Novara. Corso Cavour and Corso Mazzini
Pubblicato : Mardi, 16 janvier, 2024 - 15:13
Although in the city street plan these two avenues are two separate streets, for those who walk along this wide pedestrian street, it is to all intents and purposes a single and important city thoroughfare. Especially along Corso Mazzini stand some of the city's most important buildings, such as Palazzo Cabrino, erected in the 17th century according to Baroque forms and now housing the City Hall, the 16th-century Palazzo Natta-Isola, seat of the Province and Prefecture, or the church of San Pietro al Rosario.

Novara. Piazza delle Erbe
Pubblicato : Mardi, 16 janvier, 2024 - 13:41
Surrounded by arcaded houses, it takes the form of a triangular space, the western apex of which leads to the Piazza del Duomo. In the Middle Ages, it housed the butchers', shoemakers' and merchants' stalls, which made this trading area the centre of town life. In 1506, the square was restructured, the wooden and terracotta columns replaced with serizzo tiles, until an effect not too dissimilar to today was achieved, with rows of arcades with round arches.

Novara. Visconti-Sforza Castle
Pubblicato : Lundi, 15 janvier, 2024 - 19:59
During the rule of the Visconti family, a castle was erected on the site of an earlier fortification. Major changes were made in the 15th century, during the rule of Galeazzo Sforza, who erected a large wall and turned it into a real strategic stronghold. Reused as a prison until its abandonment in the 1970s, it was only in 2016 that it was recovered from decades of disuse. Today it houses the Archaeological Museum, the Civic Collection as well as spaces for fairs, exhibitions and special events.
